Renault Clio RS Concept 2006 posters

Renault Clio RS Concept

In 2005, the unveiling of the all-new third generation Renault Clio launched a platform co-developed with Nissan (in which Renault has a share), which is also shared with the Renault Modus and the current Nissan Micra. Larger and more expensive than the Clio II, the third-gen version is 130 kg heavier, making it slightly more upmarket. The Clio II will still be available until the launch of the new Renault Twingo (expected 2007). With a 5-star EuroNCAP safety rating, the newest Clio joins the rest of Renault's top-rated consumer motors, with the exception of the Kangoo. Sales of the 3-door model started in October 2005 in Europe, and the 5-door model followed in early 2006. In June 2006, the sales of the third generation Clio Renault Sport - featuring a new naturally aspirated 16-valve 2 liter engine that develops 145 kW (197 hp) at 7250 rpm and a 6-speed gearbox - began in France for a 23000 euro price tag. It can reach 215 km/h with a 0-100 km/h time of 6.9 seconds. At the 2006 Paris International Agricultural Show, Renault exhibited a Hi-Flex Clio with a 1.6 L 16-valve engine designed for the Brazilian market. This vehicle features Renault-developed flex-fuel technology, making it compatible with fuel containing a blend of gasoline and ethanol in any proportion (0% to 100% of either).
