Rinspeed Mono Ego Concept
To mark the twentieth anniversary of Rinspeed Design AG, Frank M. Rinderknecht has created something truly extraordinary: the Rinspeed Mono Ego. This vehicle fuses retro beauty with cutting-edge technology into an unforgettable concept car. Constructed within a single year, it is an attention-grabbing showstopper that promises to spark lively conversations at the Geneva Salon de l'auto. With the help of international personalities and businesses, the Mono Ego is now destined for automobile legend.
The famous French fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac - he of the renowned Pommery champagne - has transformed the Mono Ego into a majestic work of art. According to Mr. Rinderknecht, “We gave Jean-Charles free rein, and the end result is a multicultural collaboration between the Swiss Rinspeed company and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac himself.”
Dunlop have supplied a custom-made high-tech tire with a unique tread, to be coordinated with the Antera-supplied wheels. Eibach, a company that works with prestigious motor-sport teams and the McLaren Formula 1 team, have provided adjustable competition shock Absorbers to the Mono Ego. What's more, Remus have produced an optimised-flow exhaust system and the Swiss-based Rieter Automotive Systems are responsible for the interior's superior carpets. Furthermore, Burg Design digitised all designs and drawings through their sophisticated high-tech process, and the exterior body was handcrafted by TLC Carossiers Inc. of Florida. To ensure the transportation from Florida to Europe, the Mono Ego travelled with the specialised airline Lufthansa. The final touches included headlights, rear lights and mirrors from a Hyundai Tiburon Coupé, a seamless Philips Car Systems navigation unit and radio combined with a CD hi-fi system, as well as an exclusive golf bag from Swiss travel goods importer De'Shama.
