Rolls-Royce 100EX Centenary Concept

Produced to celebrate the centenary of the meeting of businessman Charles Rolls and engineer Frederick Henry Royce, the Rolls-Royce 100EX is a luxurious concept vehicle. Measuring an impressive 5669 mm in length, with a height of 1561 mm and a width of 1990 mm, the car's solid silver Spirit of Ecstasy stands 7 feet (2.1 m) high from the driver's perspective. While power outputs are not provided by the automotive giant, the motoring press has estimated that the vehicle boasts an impressive 700 bhp (520 kW) and 700 ft-lbs (950 Nm) of torque. Though a production version of the vehicle was a point of much discussion at its unveiling, Rolls-Royce has since stated that it will not be produced. Upon inspection of the existing parts used in the car, however, it was found that the 100EX would have been easy to put into production; enough so that the vehicle could have replaced the now defunct Rolls-Royce Corniche from 2000-2002, which targeted the exact same market. In 2005, it has been confirmed that a two-door, four-seat convertible, codenamed RR02 and inspired by the 100EX, will be entering production in 2007. The RR02 will be slightly smaller than the 100EX, but will share the same 6.75 litre, V12 engine found in the Rolls-Royce Phantom. The features of the engine include a 9.0 litre 64 valve Vin and a 6 speed automatic transmission.
