In 2006, the Rolls-Royce 101EX was introduced to the world as a one-of-a-kind vehicle designed to show off modern coupé style. With an attractive, glossy body and advanced technology, this experimental car proved to be a hit with people everywhere. As a result, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars decided to put a series model into production in 2008. This model would then join the existing Phantom, Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase and Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé collections.
In March 2008, at the Salon International de l'Automobile in Geneva, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé became the third new model from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars since BMW Group acquired the company in 1998.
