Saab 9-3 Coupe

The Saab 9-3 is an entry-level luxury car/compact executive car manufactured by the Swedish carmaker Saab. It shares platforms with the Opel Vectra. It is badged as the 93, yet Saab usually advertises it as the 9-3. The name is pronounced "nine three" and should not be mistaken for the Saab 93. 1999-2003 The first iteration of the 9-3 was a redesigned and improved earlier Saab 900. It debuted in 1998 as the 1999 model, showcasing sleeker styling, complete with a few models having a black rear spoiler, plus the removal of the famous Saab centrally-mounted "snow flap". It came as a three or five-door hatchback, and a two-door convertible. It was the last small Saab to use the company's H engine. A Saab innovation that was taken from the Saab 900 was the 'Night Panel', which allows the dimming of the instrument panel illumination except for fundamental information when driving at night. About 326,370 first-generation 9-3s were constructed. Viggen The Saab 9-3 also has a high-powered, out-of-production version known as the Viggen, which has been named after the Saab Viggen aircraft.
