Saab 9-3 Coupe

The Saab 9-3 is a popular compact executive car that had its beginnings with Swedish automaker Saab. It was based on the GM2900 platform, later changed to the GM Epsilon platform, and other vehicles such as the Opel Vectra and Cadillac BLS also used this platform. The 9-3 model, a version of the second-generation Saab 900 (1994-1997 model), was launched in 1997 for the 1998 model year. It was badged as the 93 and pronounced "nine three" to differentiate it from the older Saab 93 (pronounced "ninety three") from 1955 to 1960. First generation (1998-2002/3) The first generation 9-3, an improved version of the Saab 900 (NG), marked 1,100 changes from its predecessor. These included a revised suspension, black rear spoiler and removal of Saab's signature snow flap, as well as improved ride and handling characteristics. It was available as a three or five-door hatchback and as a two-door convertible. It was the last small Saab to make use of the company's H engine and also featured side-impact airbags with head protection and active headrests, and successfully passed the moose test.
