Saab 9-3 Aero Coupe

The Saab 9-3 is a compact executive car that was first produced by the Swedish car manufacturer Saab in 1997. It was based on the GM2900 platform until it changed to the GM Epsilon platform, which other vehicles such as the Opel Vectra and Cadillac BLS adopted. In 1998, the model was rebadged to 93, as part of Saab's strategy of matching the vehicle's name with the larger 95. Often pronounced as "nine three", the 9-3 was built until 2002, when it was replaced by an updated 9-3 for the 2003 model year. First generation (1998-2002/3) The first-generation 9-3 was essentially the second-generation Saab 900, which was launched for the 1999 model year. The changes from the Saab 900 (NG) included a revised suspension, revised styling, standard side-impact airbags with head protection and active headrests, and the car's ability to successfully undertake the Moose Test. It was available as a three or five-door hatchback and as a two-door convertible. It also sported the last small Saab engine, the H engine.
