Saab 9-3 Convertible

The Saab 9-3 is a compact executive car built by the Swedish automaker Saab. It was originally based on the GM2900 platform, but was later updated to the GM Epsilon platform - the same design used in the Opel Vectra and Cadillac BLS. Manufacture of the 9-3 sedan was taken up by National Electric Vehicle Sweden in 2012, though the company ceased production shortly afterwards.

First generation (1998-2002/3)

Launched in 1998 as a rebranded Saab 900 (1994-1997 model), the first generation 9-3 (body style 9400; also known as OG 9-3) had 1,100 revisions for smoother handling and better overall performance. These changes included a revised suspension, a black rear spoiler, and the removal of the iconic "snow flap". Buyers could choose from three or five-door hatchback, and two-door convertible models. Safety features included standard side impact airbags, head protection, and active headrests. It was fitted with the company's H engine and underwent the infamous moose test.
