Saab 9-3 Coupe
The Saab 9-3 is a luxurious entry-level / compact executive car manufactured by the Swedish automaker Saab. It is based on the Opel Vectra platform. This vehicle is officially identified as the 93, though Saab always markets it as the 9-3. The name "nine three" is uttered when spoken aloud. It should not be mistaken as the Saab 93.
1999-2003
The original Saab 9-3 is basically a re-badged predecessor of the Saab 900. It was first revealed in 1998 for the 1999 model year, coming with more enhanced styling and some models with a black rear spoiler and no signature Saab "snow flap". It was made available in three or five-door hatchback variants as well as a two-door convertible. This compact car was the last model to feature the classic H engine from Saab.
A Saab original feature in the 9-3 is the "Night Panel", which already existed in the Saab 900. This function allows the driver to lower the lighting of the dash, except for essential information, to reduce distractions when driving at night. A total of 326,370 units of the first 9-3 series was made.
Viggen
The Viggen is a high-powered, now discontinued, version of the 9-3. It takes its name from the Saab Viggen aircraft. It has a 2.3-litre turbocharged engine that yields 169 kW (230 hp ECE). It takes only 6.4 seconds for this car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr and has a top speed of 249 km/hr.
