Saab 9-4X BioPower Concept
At the North American International Auto Show, Saab revealed their plans to enter the growing crossover segment with the Saab 9-4X BioPower Concept. This concept, with its driver-focused design and progressive features, demonstrates Saab's commitment to responsible and enjoyable driving. Its clean and uncluttered Scandinavian-inspired lines boast an array of innovative equipment storage, such as a unique ski equipment stowage system developed with Salomon.
The concept is powered by a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter BioPower turbo engine that has been optimized for bioethanol (E85) fuel and delivers 300 horsepower (221 kW) and 295 lb.-ft (400 Nm) of torque while making significant reductions to CO 2 emissions. Saab's turbocharging technology, which was pioneered 30 years ago, is key in achieving these efficient levels of performance.
Jan Åke Jonsson, Saab Automobile Managing Director, made a clear statement about the Saab 9-4X BioPower Concept: "It is an important next step in our plans to enter new market segments with distinctive product offerings."
