Saab 9-X BioHybrid Concept

The 9-X BioHybrid concept offers a glimpse into what a future compact car from Saab could look like. It has been tailored to match the demands of youthful drivers who desire modern style, dependable performance, high-tech capabilities, and a thrilling ride. Inspired by the award-winning Aero X and 9X concept cars, this hybrid features a 1.4-liter BioPower turbo engine, capable of producing 200 hp (147 kW) with the help of GM's next-generation Hybrid system. Remarkably, it is expected to yield 105 g/km of CO2 emissions on E85 fuel. The 9-X BioHybrid's interior exhibits an innovative driver-focused cockpit layout and seamless connectivity for personal portable devices. The cargo hatch also boasts a "low friction" loading system. Exploring these details, Anthony Lo, Director of Advanced Design at General Motors Europe, affirmed, "This car is all about efficiency in design and performance." The distinct design of the three-door 9-X BioHybrid features 'turbine' wheels on all four corners, shortened body overhangs, and an extended roof line, delivering a fresh spin to the conventional hatchback look. The exterior is completed with a fuselage body without any visible door handles or mirrors, a striking 'wraparound' window graphic, and a deep front grille, reflecting the Aero X coupé concept from two years ago.
