Saab 90

The Saab 90 was an automobile produced from 1984 to 1987 by Saab Motor AB in Uusikaupunki, Finland, which was then owned by the joint venture of Saab and Valmet Corporation. It was essentially a Saab 99 from the B-pillar forward, combined with the rear of a Saab 900 sedan, thus giving the car a larger trunk and fuel tank than the 99 but also smaller than the 900. This model was only available as a two-door sedan powered by a 2.0-litre Saab H four-cylinder engine that produced 100 hp (74 kW) and it was offered with either a four- or five-speed manual transmission. The engine was designed to run on unleaded fuel and was equipped with a new starter motor. In 1986, minor cosmetic changes were made to the exterior, and in 1987, the carburetor was altered for easier cold weather starts. 1987 also marked the model's final year, with a total of 25,378 units being produced; it was sold exclusively in the European market. A special edition called the Saab 90 Lumikko was released in white with additional trim.
