Saab 900 Convertible

The Saab 900, also called the GM900 or NG900, was the successor to the "classic" first-generation Saab 900. This model was manufactured from 1994 to 1998. For the 1998 model year onwards, it was given over 1100 individual improvements and rebranded as the Saab 9-3 (in most markets; in the US the name change was effective from 1999). It was available in three-door, five-door, and convertible body styles, with engine choices: 900i (4-cylinder, non-turbo), S (4-cylinder, non-turbo) and SE (4-cylinder turbo or V6). A special version was the Saab 900 Talladega, launched in 1997 and 1998 to celebrate a record-breaking endurance test in 1996 at the Talladega Superspeedway. Motors of the NG900 belonged to the Saab 16-valve DOHC Family (B204 and B234) in naturally aspirated or turbocharged (2.0 L only) form, and a 2.5 L version of GM's European 54° V6 engine. Transversely mounted instead of the longpod of the first-generation Saab 900, it also featured the 'Sensonic' clutch variant, which offered a manual gear lever but was operated electronically in lieu of a clutch pedal.
