Saab 95

The Saab 95 was a two-door 7-seater station wagon released by Saab in 1959, based on the 96 sedan. Although only 40 were produced in 1959, it is generally considered to have gone into production in 1960. Its first engine was an 841cc three-cylinder two-stroke, upgraded in 1967 to the same four-stroke Ford V4 engine as used in the Saab 96 and the Ford Taunus, and featuring a four-speed manual transmission. In 1976, the rear-facing folding seat was dropped, leaving the car with a regular 5-seat capacity until its discontinuation in 1978. Over its lifetime, a total of 110,527 units were made. Additionally, Saab 95's for certain markets (Norway, Denmark) provided an export version that included no rear seat or rear side windows. Additionally, a number of private and commercial bodies had the car modified into a pickup truck. In 1961, Erik Carlsson earned 4th place in the Monte Carlo Rally in a two-stroke Saab 95. In 2005, British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams drove a Saab 95 in the video for his song "Tripping".
