Saab 95 Aero Saab Performance by Hirsch

The Saab 9-5 is an executive car produced by Saab since 1997, as a replacement for the Saab 9000. This car has offered plenty of innovations from the start, like tracks to secure cargo down and a sliding load floor to make loading easier, or its low drag coefficient of 0.29. The high-performance variant, the Saab Aero, contains a 2.3 L turbocharged straight-4 engine producing 260 hp ECE (194 kW) and 350 N·m (258 ft·lbf) of torque (370 N·m or 273 ft·lbf with 20 second overboost function). Hirsch Performance, a Saab specialising tuner, can boost these figures to a maximum of 305 hp ECE (224 kW). The 9-5 continues Saab's tradition of offering lots of safety features, and has pioneered the availability of ventilated seats with active headrests (SAHR, Saab Active Head Restraints) for whiplash prevention. Additional features include the 'Night Panel', permitting dousing of the instrument panel lighting apart from essential information, and the availability of the 2.0 L BioPower engine, optimized to run on E85 and producing 132 kW (180 hp) at 5500 r/min. It is badged as a 95 and should not be confused with the Saab 95, produced from 1959 to 1978. "Nine five" is the pronunciation, rather than "ninety five".
