Scion, a division of Toyota Motor Sales USA, recently unveiled the all-new 2008 xD, a five-door subcompact model, during the Chicago Auto Show. According to Mark Templin, Scion's vice president, "The xD is a clever new take on the five-door urban subcompact, with style and flair to match its efficiency and utility".
New Scion Style
The xD features an aggressive styling, packed into a small and agile body, with horizontal headlamps, an integrated rectangular lower and upper grille, and turn signals built into the side mirrors, as well as a long and narrow back window. Its wide stance and thick muscular body, combined with accentuated wheel flares and large tires, give this new model a unique and dynamic urban personality.
Good Handling
Engineered with a short and wide frame, the xD offers improved handling and comfort due to its L-arm type MacPherson strut in the front, and torsion beam suspension in the rear. Riding on 16-inch steel wheels and 195/60 R16 tires, the xD also offers front ventilated disc and rear drum brakes.
