Seat Altea TDI

The SEAT Altea is a compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), which has been produced by the Spanish automaker SEAT since 2004. It was designed by the Italian Walter de Silva and was the first to adopt SEAT's new corporate look. An extended version of the Altea, the Altea XL, was presented at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. 2007 saw the introduction of the Altea Freetrack, featuring 4WD and higher suspension. On 21 August 2015, SEAT announced that the Altea and Altea XL had been discontinued, with the Ateca designated as the successor to the Altea according to the CEO Luca de Meo. It is a family-oriented five-seater, aiming to present a sportier image than most rivals. The vehicle uses Volkswagen Group's A5 (PQ35) platform and features 'vertical parked' windscreen wipers. These are designed to improve pedestrian safety. Six trim levels are available for purchase; Essence (no longer available in the United Kingdom), Reference, Reference Sport, Stylance, Sport (no longer available in the United Kingdom) and FR. Internal combustion engines include the 2.0 FR Turbocharged Direct Injection (TDI) with 125 kilowatts (170 PS; 168 bhp) of power. Gearbox models include five- or six-speed manual, five-speed tiptronic automatic and six- or seven-speed Direct-Shift Gearbox. It received its name from the Spanish city – Altea. The Altea exceeded expectations when it was first released, with 31,223 sold within the first year.
