Seat Ibiza 2.0

The SEAT Ibiza is a supermini produced by the Volkswagen Group and sold under the SEAT brand. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the same man who created the VW Golf, the Ibiza utilizes the VW Polo 6KV and a modified version of the Volkswagen Golf mk3 chassis. Mk. 1 (1985-1993) The first of its kind, the Mk. 1 marked SEAT's move away from the Fiat 127/Ritmo/Regata style and was hence the first to have an entirely original body design. Suffering from hefty steering and reliability issues, the advert for Mk.1 championed its 'Italian styling with German engineering'. Although smaller than an Escort or Golf, it was larger than cars like the Ford Fiesta and Austin/MG Metro. In 1999, the design was bought by Chinese car firm Nanjing and reworked into the Nanjing Yuejin Eagle and 2004 Soyat. Mk. 2 (6K & 6K GP01) (1993-2002) The Mk. 2 built on the foundations of the Mk.3 VW Polo 6KV. Initially, released as a cheaper VW model, its sportier Cupra models and rallying success rebalanced its identity. Aligned with VW's acquisition of Škoda as a budget brand, it offered an affordable option with sleek styling and interior space.
