The SEAT León is a small family car manufactured by the Spanish car maker SEAT since 1999, based on the Volkswagen A platform and sharing components with the Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3 and Škoda Octavia. Dubbed as a sportier and cheaper version of the VW Golf, SEAT León Mk I (1999-2005) features aggressive looks and firm suspension set up, plus further upgrades with powerful engines and all wheel drive available.
The second generation SEAT León (2005 to present) switched to the Volkswagen Golf V platform, with a more sharper exterior design. The base model offers an 8-valve 1.6 L engine with 102 PS (75 kW) and the sportier variants feature a 150 PS (110 kW) 2.0 FSI and the 140 PS (103 kW) 2.0 TDI Diesel, both with a 6-speed manual and the DSG semi-auto gearbox as an option. There was also a short-lived 185 PS (136 kW) 2.0 TFSI unique to the León, later replaced by the sportier FR variants.
