Seat Toledo 1998 posters

Seat Toledo

The SEAT Toledo is a car developed and marketed by SEAT, a division of the Volkswagen Group. The Toledo name first appeared in SEAT's line-up in 1991, with the third generation released in late 2004.

First generation (1991-1999)

The first Toledo was the first model designed entirely by the VW group. Modeled off the Volkswagen Golf Mk II, it was a saloon car that had an extended boot, similar to the Passat in size. It was considered by many to be a large family car as there were few saloons available in a similar size and price range.

At its launch, the Toledo used engines from the VW range, including the 1.6 L 75 PS (55 kW) and a 2.0 L 115 PS (85 kW) GT version. Later releases included a 150 PS (110 kW) 2.0 L GTI 16V and a 110 PS (81 kW) 1.9 TDI, which could use both mineral diesel and biodiesel fuel.

This Spanish car had a facelift in 1996 and featured a hatchback boot as part of its design.

Second generation (1999-2004)

The second generation Toledo was released in 1999. It had a sleeker design and was modeled after the coupe body, with design elements created by Giorgetto Giugiaro from Italdesign. It shared some parts with the Škoda Octavia and VW Bora, and was said to be the sportiest of the three, featuring completely translucent headlights and a curvy interior.
