Skoda Felicia

The little family car, Škoda Felicia, was manufactured by Czech-based Škoda Auto between 1994 and 2001. The production of the Felicia model started in late 1994, replacing the earlier Škoda Favorit and giving an updated and more modern look. Volkswagen Group's take over of Škoda saw this model benefit from their influence, as the Škoda Felicia had an array of engines. It offered Škoda's 1.3L OHV units, fitted with Bosch Mono Motronic and Siemens multi-point fuel injection. VW's 1.6L engine, with Magneti Marelli multi-point fuel injection was given to the Škoda Felicia too, as was their 1.9L diesel, offering 64 hp (47 kW). Those engines were combined with a 5-speed gearbox, offering a range of power outputs, from 54 hp (40 kW) up to 75 hp (55 kW). The Škoda Felicia came in a variety of body types, such as 5 models for personal use, along with the Felicia Combi estate and the pick-up version - or VW Caddy pick-up in some countries. There was also the lifestyle version, the Škoda Felicia Fun, with its dual cab option and reclinable seats in the back. This car also became the homologation basis for the Škoda Felicia kit-car, used in the World Rally Championship F2 class. The car also had the latest safety and convenience features, with air conditioning and velour upholstery as additional options on the SLXI Models. In 1998, Škoda won the JD Power Car Survey's "Best Manufacturer" award after the Škoda Felicia scored a high satisfaction score. Over 1.4 million cars were made over the course of its production, until finally being replaced by the Škoda Fabia at the start of 2001.
