Skoda Octavia Combi 4x4

The Škoda Octavia Combi 4x4 first emerged in 2000 when it received a facelift to the original 1996 model. The facelift included a number of changes such as independent rear suspension, improved interior design and quality of materials, and of course the 4x4 wheel drive system for the hatchback and estate models. This 4x4 option was powered by the 1.8 T 150 bhp (112 kW; 152 PS) petrol engine, 1.9 TDI 90 bhp (67 kW; 91 PS) diesel engine, or 2.0 L petrol engine and included a 5-speed manual gearbox, or with the 1.9 TDI-PD (Pumpe-Düse) 100 bhp (75 kW; 101 PS) diesel engine, which featured a 6-speed manual gearbox. When the Octavia was released in the United Kingdom in 1998, it became an instant success due to its solidity, refinement and value for money, in comparison to other large family car favourites. The abundant load space and low cost made the vehicle an ideal choice for private hire drivers and the taxi trade. The vRS was the quickest and highest-level version, and was powered by a 1.8-litre straight-4 turbocharged engine which produced 180 bhp (134 kW; 182 PS). Škoda also made a limited number of 100 WRC Replica Cars worldwide in 2002, which were distinguishable by its rally decals and white appearance, in addition to their standard range of special accessories such as ESP, xenon lights and heated front seats.
