Škoda Auto is presenting a fresh take on its best-selling model, the Škoda Octavia, at the 2008 Paris Motor Show (2-19 October, 2008). The world premiere reveals a vehicle that has been rejuvenated with a bold new design and exciting technological updates.
Dr. Eckhard Scholz, BOD member responsible for technological development, had this to say about the Škoda Octavia: “It has always had a special place among Škoda vehicles and is very popular worldwide. Now, its transformation is obvious in the newly designed interior, exterior, and technology.”
The revised exterior features newly shaped, more expressive headlamps, a more prominent radiator grille, a one-piece bumper, and new tail lamp covers and associated bumper with integrated cat eyes. Inside, an entirely updated lineup of Škoda audio and navigation systems showcase a redesigned steering wheel, white-backlit dashboard, air conditioning controls, and decorative strips on the doors and central console. There is also a variety of new upholstery fabric available across all equipment levels.
Safety is also increased thanks to the vehicle’s adaptive xenon headlamps and front WOKS headrests for improved rear impact protection in all models. Under the hood, the Octavia benefits from a brand new 1.4 TSI/90 kW engine. Turbocharged 1.4 and 1.8 litre petrol engines can be coupled with a seven-speed twin-clutch automatic DSG transmission.
