Skoda is now launching an all-wheel-drive variant of the much-loved RS model, being presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show. The all-wheel drive - based on an electronically-controlled multi-plate clutch - is available for the Octavia diesel 2.0 TDI/135 kW (184 PS) combined with a six-speed DSG transmission.
The Octavia RS 4x4 is also equipped with the innovative Dynamic Chassis Control and a wireless smartphone charger, the first of its kind to be offered by Skoda. All these features transform the Skoda Octavia RS 4x4 into an exceptional powerhouse that is also highly practical on a day-to-day basis.
"The immense popularity of the Skoda Octavia RS has exceeded our expectations, with more than 71,800 vehicles delivered since its launch in 2013," said Christian Strube, Skoda Board Member for Technical Development. "The 4x4 variant of the RS range brings yet another attractive option to the table, showing our expertise in all-wheel-drive technology," he added.
Since the launch of the first all-wheel-drive Octavia Combi in 1999, Skoda has sold over half a million 4x4 vehicles. Both hatchback and estate variants boast a very sporty, yet highly practical design, representing Skoda's successful 115-year motorsports heritage.
