Smart forfour

When it was released in 2004, the Smart Forfour was a more traditional 5-door hatchback supermini with ample interior space to seat four or five people. This car was produced at the NedCar factory in the Netherlands alongside Mitsubishi Motors. The same factory was responsible for the Volvo 340s of the 1970s and 1980s. To reduce cost, the most of the components of the Smart Forfour were directly borrowed from 2003 Mitsubishi Colt, such as the chassis, suspension, and an up-to-date range of MIVEC petrol motors with power outputs from a single three-cylinder 1.1L, up to a four-cylinder 1.3L or 1.5L with capacities reaching 80 kW (109 PS). The 1.5L cdi diesel motor, on the other hand, was conceived as a three-cylinder Mercedes-Benz engine derivative of the A-Class' four-cylinder variant with either 68 PS or 95 PS. For the sportier types, a Brabus version was released in 2005. This turbocharged Mitsubishi 4G15 engine provided 130 kW (177 PS), which is 27 PS more than the Colt CZT. The max speed it can reach is 221 km/h (137 mph), while the standard acceleration rate for 0-100 km/h (60 mph) is 6.9 seconds. Unfortunately, due to its low sales, the Smart Forfour has been removed from production.
