Spyker C8 Spyder
The Spyker C8 is a Dutch sports car series produced by Spyker Cars. There are several variants of the C8, including the C8 Spyder, C8 Spyder T, C8 Laviolette, C8 Double 12R, C8 Double 12S, GT2R, and C12 LaTurbie.
The C8 Spyder is the original base model, equipped with an Audi 4.2 liter V8 engine giving the car 400hp and a top speed of 300km/h. The C8 Spyder T features a more powerful Audi 4.2 liter V8 twin turbo with 525hp, providing a top speed of 320km/h. The C8 Laviolette, featuring the 400hp Audi engine, includes a glass canopy and is typically equipped with either a soft or hard top.
The C8 Double 12R is an endurance racing variant made specifically for the 24 hours of Le Mans. It uses the Audi V8 engine, producing 480hp, and has an extended wheelbase and a bigger 100-liter fuel tank, compared to the C8 Spyder's 75-liter tank. Its street version, the C8 Double 12S, shares the same glass canopy of the Laviolette and can equip a 600hp engine for a top speed of 300km/h to 345km/h.
The latest racing model of the car is the GT2R, an open-topped vehicle with a metal roll cage and 450hp engine. The most recent road version is the Spyker C12 LaTurbie, the design of which is similar to earlier C8 models. It features a 12 cylinder 6.0 litre Audi W12 engine with an impressive 500hp.

Racing
The Spyker C8 Double 12R's first race was the 12 hours of Sebring in 2002, though an accident prevented the car from finishing. It also participates in the 24 hours of Le Mans and several other endurance races. Since 2005, it has competed in FIA GT races with a Spyker C8 Spyder GT2R. In addition, the Spyker C8 can be driven in various racing games, such as Gran Turismo 4, Project Gotham Racing 3 and Test Drive Unlimited.
