The Subaru Outback was launched in Europe in 1996 and coined the concept of a 'Crossover', offering the practicality of an estate car, the durability and ground clearance of a sports utility vehicle and superior on-road handling. The new Outback has been refined, as it is longer, wider and taller than its predecessor and provides more space and comfort for occupants. The exterior of the Outback is bold and purposeful, with a prominent grille and three-dimensional headlamps. It has muscular, flared wheel arches as well as standard-fit 17-inch alloys and a chrome-framed glass-house. Inside, the cabin has been designed to provide a feeling of spaciousness and quality, and has improved seat adjustability, softer cushioning and reduced NVH levels.
