Subaru Pleo 2005 posters

Subaru Pleo

The Subaru Pleo was a compact keicar developed and sold only in Japan. It was released in October 1998 when the country implemented stricter requirements for vehicles in the keicar tax bracket. In order to comply, virtually every keicar model had to be redesigned. Standing taller than a conventional hatchback keicar but shorter than the iconic Suzuki Wagon R minivan, the Pleo was available with a range of 658 cc I4 engines - SOHC, DOHC, and a supercharged option - in two trim levels. On December 8, 2003, the Pleo was discontinued and replaced by the Subaru R2. However, the original Pleo continues to be sold in Japan as an entry-level vehicle with low-end engines.
