Suzuki Equator Quad Concept
The Suzuki Equator is designed for outstanding performance and durability, offering two powerful yet fuel efficient engines: a 2.5-liter DOHC inline four with 152 horsepower and 171 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 4.0-liter V6 DOHC engine with 261 hp and 281 lb.-ft. of torque. The V6 engine is equipped with an aluminum block and cast iron cylinder liners, Teflon®-coated pistons, variable valve timing, and more. Both engines are mated to either a five-speed electronically controlled automatic or manual transmission, and an optional four-wheel drive system.
The robust frame of the Equator hosts a 125.9-inch wheelbase and 205.5-inch overall length, boasting stability and maneuverability for a midsize pickup truck. For off-road capability, the Suzuki Equator's off-road traction system includes four-wheel limited slip, electronic locking rear differential, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), hill descent control and hill start assist. It has a maximum towing capacity of 6,500 pounds, and its fuel economy estimates are still pending.
