Toyota 1X Concept
The Toyota 1/X (pronounced "one-Xth") is a concept vehicle that radically redefines the concept of environmental friendliness. Characterized by a design that strives to blend harmoniously with people and society, the 1/X is one-third the weight of other vehicles in its class, but the interior cabin is spacious like the Prius, and has double the fuel efficiency. Powered by a 500cc plug-in hybrid powertrain, this concept car reduces fossil fuel consumption through Flexible Fuel Vehicles (FFV) technology and possesses the capacity to be charged externally, producing less carbon dioxide emissions and thus, helping to fight air pollution. The power unit is uniquely positioned beneath the rear seat, providing an innovative and efficient package, and light but strong carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) is used in the body structure to ensure excellent collision safety and narrower pillars to give a broader field of view.
