Toyota Auris HSD
The Toyota Auris HSD has harnessed Hybrid Synergy Drive® technology to bring a new 5-door hatchback to the mainstream models of the Toyota line-up. It is the first full hybrid powertrain of its kind to be seen in the highly competitive C-segment.
Toyota's commitment to sustainable mobility is plain to see with the addition of Hybrid Synergy Drive® to all future models in the pipeline. The launch of the Toyota Auris HSD marks the start of their deployment of Toyota's full hybrid drive technology across the entire European model range.
Toyota has a target of introducing around 10 new hybrid models by the early 2010s, and by the 2020s they are aiming for all models to have a Hybrid Synergy Drive® powertrain. The system is also designed to be multipurpose, compatible with full-electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
The Toyota Auris 2010 model range sees dramatic improvements in style and interior quality, as well as increased driving comfort and a wider range of Toyota Optimal Drive-efficient powertrains. The added value of having the choice between petrol, diesel or full hybrid powertrains leaves the Auris 2010 range alone in the C-segment.
