Toyota FJ Cruiser

The Toyota FJ Cruiser (FJC) is an iconic, retro-style compact SUV by Toyota. It made its debut as a concept at the 2003 Chicago Auto Show before officially being available on the market at the following North American International Auto Show. The FJ Cruiser went on sale early in 2006 as a 2007 model, and is sold exclusively in North America. It bears styling reminiscent of the original FJ-series Land Cruisers from the 1960s, featuring a front fascia and wrap-around rear windows, and is based on the Hi-Lux platform employed by the modern 4Runner and Land Cruiser Prado. The FJ Cruiser primarily competes with the Nissan Xterra, Jeep Wrangler and the Hummer H3, ranging between US$21,000 and US$23,000. It stands out as the longest compact SUV offered in North America, nestling between the smaller RAV4 and the mid-size Highlander at 183.9 inches in length. With the FJ Cruiser added to the American lineup, Toyota now offers two compact SUVs (the RAV4 and FJ Cruiser), two mid-size SUVs (Highlander and 4Runner), and two full-size SUVs (Sequoia and Land Cruiser). It is also the company's only current vehicle that features TOYOTA spelled out across the grill, as a nod to the classic FJ40. Engine
