Toyota has significantly revised their popular Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid crossover sport utility vehicles for 2011, bringing improved styling, more features and new technology to the vehicles.

The 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, which had been limited to the Toyota Highlander Base grade model for 2010, is now available in the SE, the most popular grade model (2WD only). The Highlander Hybrid adds a more powerful and advanced 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine plus a standard Tech Audio Package and unique exterior design enhancements.

The 2011 Highlander is offered in a variety of grades (Base, SE and Limited) and drivetrains (2WD and 4WD). A 270-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 is standard on the Limited model and available on the Base and SE grades. All Highlander Hybrid models possess four-wheel-drive with intelligence and come in two grades (Base and Limited).

The first-generation Highlander changed the midsize crossover utility vehicle segment, blending car-like performance, comfort and fuel efficiency with SUV-like roominess and versatility. The second-generation Highlander builds on these characteristics and has become one of the most safety-equipped vehicles in its class.
