The new Toyota Land Cruiser V8 is the top of the range model that will soon be released on the European market. This eighth generation of the classic off-roader has kept all the renowned capabilities of its predecessors, and added a new level of comfort and quality. Per Land Cruiser chief engineer, Sadayoshi Koyari, the goal for this generation was to provide a vehicle that will not betray the trust of long-time customers.
The exterior of the Land Cruiser V8 offers an increase in length to 4950mm, while the height and width varies depending on the suspension interacted with the model. Additionally, the wheelbase is of 2850 mm.
The model is available with the impressive 4.5 D-4D V8 diesel engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission, producing 650 Nm from 1600 to 2800 rpm and 286 hp at 3600 rpm. This comes with a 10.2 L/100Km fuel consumption rating, a 4% improvement from its predecessor. There is also an improved 4.7 VVT-i V8 petrol engine, with a 5-speed automatic transmission providing 445 Nm at 3400 rpm and 288 hp at 5400 rpm, and a 14.4 L/100Km fuel consumption rating with a 12% improvement from its predecessor. Both feature Euro IV emissions regulations compliance.
Designed to make the Land Cruiser V8 a top of the line off-roader, it is equipped with technologies including the world's first Crawl Control system, 4-Wheel Active Height Control and Adaptive Variable Suspension (4W AHC & AVS), the European first Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS), as well as a centre Torsen® Limited Slip Differential (LSD). Furthermore, advanced safety features such as the Multi Terrain Anti-lock Brake System, Vehicle Stability Control and Electronic Brake-force Distribution, as well as 14 Airbags, are incorporated in the model.
