At the 2009 Chicago Auto Show, Toyota debuted the 2010 Toyota Tundra full-size pickup truck and an all-new 4.6-liter V8 engine. Two new packs, including a Tundra Platinum Package and a Tundra Work Truck, were unveiled. For 2010 Toyota Tundra models, value will be increased with the addition of additional exterior, mechanical, security, and convenience features.
The new 4.6-liter V8 engine will be available on all models from the 2010 model year. Internally estimated to have fuel efficiency of 15 mpg city and 20 mpg on the highway, it is anticipated that the new engine will give the highest mix of power and fuel economy among any conventional V8 in the full-size pickup segment. Similarly to the optional 5.7-liter V8 engine, the 4.6-liter V8 will be attached to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2010 Tundra offers a Platinum Package for those looking for higher refinement and convenience features. The package is available on 2010 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Limited models equipped with the 5.7-liter V8 and Flex Fuel powertrains and has a MSRP of $5,140. On the exterior, the package has a Limited grade billet-style grille with chrome bumpers, exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels and tires, daytime running lamps, door sill protectors with a Platinum logo, and Platinum badge.
