Toyota i Concept

The Toyota i Concept was announced at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, with a vision of vehicles of the future that are friendly and focused on people. To create this concept vehicle, Toyota's CALTY Design Research in Newport Beach, Calif. and Toyota Innovation Hub in San Francisco developed a user experience technology that centers around the philosophy of "kinetic warmth". This means the vehicle should be warm, welcoming, and above all, fun. Concept-i also has advanced artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize people's needs and enhance their lives. Bob Carter, senior vice president of automotive operations for Toyota, said, "At Toyota, we recognize that the important question isn't whether future vehicles will be equipped with automated or connected technologies. It is the experience of the people who engage with those vehicles. Thanks to Concept-i and the power of artificial intelligence, we think the future is a vehicle that can engage with people in return." Built around the Driver Vehicle Relationship The AI underlying Concept-i is designed to build a relationship with the driver that is meaningful and human. It measures emotion, mapped against where and when the driver travels, in order to improve quality of life. The car can learn what the driver needs and adjust itself for a more personalized experience.
