Toyota iQ Concept

With the iQ concept, Toyota endeavored to create a revolutionary small car design, that defies the existing norms of automotive classifications. Built around the vision of a miniature vehicle that's still roomy, luxurious yet economical, this concept car stands out for its environmental friendliness and appeal to affluent city dwellers. Conceived by Toyota's European design studio ED2 in France, the iQ concept follows the auto-maker's "Vibrant Clarity" design philosophy - where modern, intelligent and energetic designs come with the intact clarity of purpose and functionality. According to Wahei Hirai, Managing Officer of Toyota Motor Corporation's Design activities, this concept is made to reflect and take forward its owners' lifestyle. He opines that, in an urban context, form and style go hand-in-hand with practical concerns such as size, performance, and CO2 emissions, and that it's possible to bring these two aims together harmoniously - which the company calls the 'J-factor' and makes the driving force behind all their projects. At 2.98 meters in length, the iQ concept is an impressive feat of vehicle engineering that allows for the interior space of a four-seat vehicle yet requires minimal space. Its unique construction also manages to accommodate three adults and room for luggage - making it a perfect fit for city dwellers who don't want to compromise on comfort and style.
