TVR S4C

The TVR S Series was first announced to the public at the 1986 NEC motor show, where it received an overwhelmingly positive response. This prompted a quick production process, which saw 250 pre-manufacture orders being placed in just 12 months. This was owner Peter Wheeler's first major project since buying the company from Martin Lilley, and was in fact the decisive moment in beginning to turn TVR's fortunes around. Between 1986 and 1994, a total of 2,604 S Series cars had been built. These models all featured Ford's Cologne V6 engine in either 2.8L (160HP) or 2.9L (170HP) varieties. While the V6 S Series cars were the most common, there were special forbearers that included the 'C' designation. These cars were fitted with catalytic converters and were available for the S3 and S4 models, before the cat standard was introduced for cars with "K" registration.
