Valmet Automative is a Finnish company, which provides services in automotive engineering, manufacturing of cars and convertible roof systems as well as providing business services. The company was founded as Saab-Valmet in 1968 as a joint venture of the Valmet Corporation (Finland) and Saab-Scania (Sweden). In 1992, Valmet became the only owner of the brand and renamed it to Valmet Automative. Since 1999, it's owned by Metso company.
Since 2009, it has a series production of electric vehicles. In 2012, it started to cooperate with Marussia Motors to produce B2 sports cars. Valmet also provides roof systems for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Mini, Renault and Bentley. It's one of the biggest roof systems suppliers in the world.
