Powering the sporty Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nürburgring Edition is an upgraded 1.6-litre turbocharged engine delivering an impressive 205PS at 5,750rpm and a peak torque of 250-280Nm. The engine management and turbocharger system have been modified, while the sports exhaust system cuts back pressure. Moreover, the car can be driven running on 98-octane fuel. To harness this increased power, the car is fitted with a beneficial mechanical, multi-plate limited-slip differential for optimal traction and reduced understeer. To top it off, the vehicle's chassis was optimised for performance and dynamics at the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife. The ride height has been lowered by 20mm at the front and 15mm at the rear, complemented by lightened Brembo brakes offering more brake lining area. The recalibrated ABS, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control systems further provide better control. As a result, the Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nürburgring Edition reaches an impressive 0-60mph in just 6.5 seconds, with a maximum speed of 143mph. Standing out visually, the car features a dual stainless steel exhaust, special high-gloss grey alloy wheels, and 'Nürburgring' emblems on the B-Pillars and front spoiler lip. It is available in two striking colours, apple green 'Grasshopper' and red 'Henna', with interior detailing such as 'Nürburgring' lettering on sill plates and seat backs, and custom white stitching. The Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nürburgring Edition will go on sale in late May 2011, priced at £22,295.
