Venturi Automobiles is a French car manufacturer, which produces luxury electric vehicles. Its headquarters is located in Fontvieille, Monaco. more
The company was founded in 1984 by engineers Claude Poiraud and Gerard Godfroy. The same year, the first car of the brand was presented. Poiraud and Godfroy aimed to create the first French car for "Grand Tourisme" and thus, MVS Venturi was built. Venturi 400 GTR appeared in limited edition in 1994 and took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It's still one of the best French racing cars and is the first car in the world, which has standard carbon brakes.
In 2001, Venturi was purchased by Gildo Pallanca, who decided to focus on electric engines. Soon, Fetish model was presented. Later, the Eclectic, the first energy-autonomous vehicle in the world, and the Astrolab, the first solar-electric hybrid car, were presented.
