According to Volkswagen's Chairman of the Board, Prof. Martin Winterkorn, "The BlueSport proves to be a compact and passionate car with a clear Volkswagen signature. The car offers pure dynamics with a powerful 180 PS Clean Diesel engine that is combined with the characteristic Volkswagen philosophy of efficiency." Both the exterior and interior of the 3.99 meter long roadster make a statement in themselves. The Flex Silver exterior and orange convertible top cannot be ignored, and the interior features a luxurious leather upholstery with a touchscreen display.
The sports car houses a 132 kW / 180 PS strong Clean Diesel (TDI) with common rail injection and downstream NOx storage catalytic converter that promises quick acceleration. Paired with the slick 6-speed DSG dual clutch transmission and eco-friendly start-stop and energy regeneration systems, the car can reach 0-100km/h in just 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 226 km/h, all while consuming only 4.3 l/100 km.
