The fifth-generation of VW's CrossPolo is now available, and it's ready for some daring escapades. World-premiering at the Geneva Motor Show 2010, the stylish little compact in a cool all-terrain look follows the 2009 introduction of the Polo base model, and 2010's debuts of the fuel-efficient Polo BlueMotion and the sporty Polo GTI. The CrossPolo rounds up the already formidable lineup with bold features, including a 15mm higher ride height, a cheeky design, and an array of exclusive colours. Buyers can choose from three petrol and three common rail TDI engines, ranging from 51kW (70PS) to 77kW (105PS), three of which offer the 7-speed DSG popular on Polo GTI models.
Fun and Cross: From special edition to production model
VW's new CrossPolo follows on from its predecessors, the Polo Fun and the first-generation CrossPolo special edition based on it. 5,000 units were initially planned for the Fun variant, but huge demand skyrocketed far above the forecasts; thus, the production was taken from special edition to the Cross model.
