Volkswagen Golf Plus
Since its launch in three and a half years ago, the
first-generation Volkswagen Golf Plus has successfully established itself within the iconic VW Golf vehicle lineup. Its hallmark feature is its cleverly van-like design that is as compact as the famous
VW Golf. This has resulted in more than 500,000 customers across Europe taking advantage of the extra interior and seat height, improved variability, and added comfort. Volkswagen is proud to present the improved Golf Plus at the 2008 Bologna Motor Show, with a European-wide market release planned for early March 2009.
The new "Plus" model features a revamped design that bridges the gap between the classic Golf look and the just-released sixth generation Golf model. This design is especially noticeable in the bumper and roof rails, while the addition of steel and alloy wheels in different sizes enhances the exterior. Inside, features such as redesigned upholstery, steering wheel options, and a Climatronic climate control system that directly mirrors the Golf lend the Golf Plus a stylish and modern look.
The new Golf Plus also incorporates technical elements from its sixth generation namesake, such as a range of fuel-efficient and noiseless common rail TDI engines ranging from 66 kW / 90 PS to 103 kW / 140 PS , which are estimated to reduce fuel consumption by up to 0.8 liters per 100 kilometers.
