The latest iteration - the Volkswagen Golf R32 - takes things to a new level, boasting a 3.2-litre V6 petrol engine and producing 241 PS at 6250 rpm for a 0-62 mph time of 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 153 mph.
An intelligent 4MOTION four-wheel drive system, lower suspension, upgraded steering and throttle response, and ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme) help ensure that the Golf R32 can take full advantage of its power. Outside, the model is distinguished by new front and rear bumpers, side sills, twin chrome tailpipes, blue brake callipers, 18-inch 'Aristo' alloy wheels, and silver 'R32' badges. Inside, there are aluminium trim, sports seats with integrated backrests, and plentiful use of the 'R' (or 'Racing') logo.
