Volkswagen New Compact Coupe Concept

VW is set to have an action-packed year with more new models introduced than ever before in its history. One of the cars being revealed is the Volkswagen New Compact Coupe Concept, featuring a hybrid powertrain which combines power with futuristic fuel efficiency. Its design reflects a perfect balance between the Scirocco and the widely popular CC, and its excellent performance completes the package. At its world premiere in Detroit, it boasted incredible fuel consumption of 4.2 l/100 km (45 mpg) and CO2 emissions of 98 g/km, and was capable of speed of 227 km/h (141 mph) and could complete the 0-60 mph sprint in 8.1 seconds. This was achieved by using a combination of a TSI 110 kW / 150 PS engine, an electric motor and a 7-speed Direct Shift Gearbox. After the launch of the VW Up! Lite in Los Angeles, the Volkswagen New Compact Coupe Concept reaffirms VW's commitment to producing fuel-efficient hybrids that also offer a great driving experience. In the first half of the year, Volkswagen will launch its first hybrid vehicle powered by full-time all-wheel drive. The concept car visually and technologically shows what the company has planned for the future of compact hybrids.
