Volkswagen Phaeton
At the Geneva Motor Show Volkswagen presents a new generation of the Phaeton, equipped with numerous technical innovations. Starting at the end of May, these modifications and new equipment will become available to the public.
NEW V6 TDI
The Phaeton is equipped with an advanced V6 turbo-diesel engine, and one of the first cars to already fulfill the Euro-5 standard, with required limits for soot particulates that are 80 percent lower. The new engine offers 171 kW / 233 PS and a 9.6 liters/100 kilometers fuel consumption rate, along with a 259 g/km CO2 emissions- both are very low for a luxury class car. Driving performance was also slightly improved, and the Phaeton V6 TDI can now reach 236 km/h. Alternatives to the TDI include three gasoline versions, from 177 kW / 241 PS to 331 kW / 450 PS.
NEW TECHNICAL FEATURES
The Phaeton is also equipped with new technical features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Follow-to-Stop function, Front Assist for stopping distance reduction, Side Assist lane change assistant, automatic low-beam lamp activation, DVD-supported navigation system, a modified infotainment system, voice-controlled Bluetooth telephone with auxiliary Bluetooth receiver and 1,000 telephone book entries (containing up to four numbers per entry), and tire pressure control system.
