The new Polo GTI is about to launch with a powerful 110kW/150hp engine, making it the most powerful Polo since its introduction nearly 30 years ago. It is true to its legendary Golf GTI namesake with a sporty exterior and interior. The Polo GTI hits the first markets this spring with a 0 - 100km/h time of 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 216km/h. Furthermore, its 1.8-litre engine produces an impressive maximum torque of 220Nm at 1,950rpm with an average consumption of 7.8 litres.
The Polo GTI sports an iconic GTI badge with a turbo-charged engine and intercooler that provide lively acceleration and great elasticity values. With the help of its mighty disc brakes, the Polo GTI needs just 7.5 seconds to jump from 80 to 120km/h in fourth gear. It also features a roof spoiler that provides downforce on the rear axle and a set of 16-inch alloy wheels.
The exterior is authentically GTI with its black, V-shaped radiator grille, honeycomb mesh air intake, and chrome twin exhaust tail pipes. Black, silver, or read paintwork amplifies the GTI styling while the fog lights, frame headlights, and the bright red brake calipers further set it apart. Inside, the sporty seating features the GTI's signature checked "Interlagos" pattern as well as the leather sports steering wheel, gearstick knob, gaiter and handbrake grip. Special accents like the red cross stitching on the steering wheel add to the interior's refinement.
