The Volkswagen Scirocco R, a concept created by Volkswagen Individual, is a powerful performance package that boasts an impressive engine and chassis, a unique look, and exclusive features. It is the first R-model from Volkswagen to use a four-cylinder TSI instead of the usual six-cylinder, delivering high power and torque with reduced fuel consumption. On average, it only requires 8.3 liters of super unleaded for every 100 kilometers driven, resulting in 194 g/km of CO2 - both top grades for a fast 250 km/h (electronically limited) sports car.
To show off the dynamic potential of the Volkswagen Scirocco R, Volkswagen plans to enter an entire fleet of two-door cars, five in total, into the well-known 24 hour race. These cars feature resemblance to the original vehicle, both technically and visually. Out of these five cars, three are equipped with a TSI gasoline engine producing 315 PS, whereas the other two cars labeled as 'GT24-CNG' make use of Compressed Natural Gas, resulting in very low emissions of 300 PS. After already winning and demonstrating its capabilities in the Dakar Rally with the Race Touareg TDI (direct-injection diesel), Volkswagen is re-emphasizing sustainability in the Volkswagen Scirocco GT24 with its impressive race course.
