Volkswagen Tiguan Prototype

Volkswagen is now ready to take its new Volkswagen Tiguan for a final extreme test in Namibia. During the final acceptance drive, the technical components and chassis of the SUV are the focus of the test, including a noteworthy development in electronics: the completely new generation radio and navigation system. This was designed with input from Volkswagen operations from around the globe, allowing experts and each market's individual requirements to influence the devices. The top system RNS 510 features a 30 GB hard disk drive and is managed with a touch screen. A rear-view camera also provides a view behind. The inventive network of assistance systems called “Offroad Mode” also makes off-road driving easier in the Volkswagen Tiguan, with a switch activation of safety features to support the driver. THE TIGUAN VERSIONS All motor and body versions of the VW Tiguan have to face the final test in Namibia. The SUV is offered exclusively with charged engines: the TSIs (gasoline) output 110 kW / 150 PS, 125 kW / 170 and 147 kW / 200 PS; and the TDIs (diesel) develop 103 kW / 140 PS and 125 kW / 170 PS.
